This was the most unique building I saw in Belgium. It was just tucked in the middle of the shopping street. Did not match anything nearby. I took several pictures of it.

Blankenberge, Belgium... no I did not go to Brugges... so if that's the only reason you're reading, just stop now.
I went out in Belgium solo, just looking for some fresh air and some new sights.
This was the shuttle drop off point. A very cool church in the middle of a lovely central town square.
Another angle of the church.
Plack on the side of the church advertising the other famous churches in town. I only managed to see one other one... not sure where the third was hiding.

The courtyard at the entrance of the shopping row.
Shopping row. While walking down the street, about one in three places sold ice cream and Belgian waffles. I was absolutely determined to get one on my way back to the shuttle stop.
The other awesome church I managed to find.

Awesome steps that led up to the boardwalk.
The beach! Everything is already closed and tied down for the season.
View from the boardwalk back at the shopping street.

In Blankenberge they seem to have a thing for really random statues. This one wa sjust on top of an access panel.
Same statue on the access panel.
A closer view of the second church I saw. Very dark for some reason.

Another random statue in the middle of the sidewalk.
A Belgian chocolaterie. I helped the two women in this picture get a photo together. The one in the yellow had no idea how to use the camera.
This window art reminded me a lot of the mural in the basement of my childhood church, Christ Crossman I belive the name of the church was? I am sure my mom will correct me.
The shuttle on the way back was a double decker bus! I sat on the second level... of course... Here's me with the city hall in the background. It is hard to tell from this photo, but the landscaping and floral work around the building was absolutely stunning.
Street shot from the top of the bus.
Random sculpture we passed on the way back to port. It was around this time that I had realized I had forgotten to stop and eat a Belgian waffle on my way back from the beach. :*(

Young lady, I will have to spank you for not getting to Brugges! But this town looks charming, too.
