Well i finally made it to san francisco and made it to a world famous landmark: the golden gate bridge. Where we got into a car v. bus accident. I believe this is the first car accident i have ever been in... Under very bizarre circumstances.
So right now the 24 of s are sitting on the tour bus with the bridge as our backdrop waiting for police reports to be completed.
And all we want is to get to our hotel which is about 40 minutes south.
Oh, and im sick.
Bye!

spokane update
Its now 2pm and the show was supposed to be at 4 and crew has finaLly just arrived at the theater. Needless to say, trying to condense our 8 hour preshow process into a 2 hour endeavour is a wee bit daunting. The show has officially been delayed 30 min to help us out a bit... Oh goodness this is going to be a rough day.
almost to Spokane, WA
The entire company is stopped in the miidle of Washington state about 3 hours away from our next performance venue. The highway we need to take is getting closed down as a result of a huge dust storm which is causing a brown out of the entire area. Our truck and crew (which left 3 hours before the company) is at a dead stop somewhere in the middle of the storm. The truck dricer, Brian (who is also our soung engineer) was afraid of the truck tipping over brcause the winds are so strong.

Workin' 9 to 5!
Well hello there!
I'm actually working more like 10-7, but whatever. The point is that I have started my touring job and everything is up and running. We are currently doing our first load-in of the fall leg of the tour in Edmonds, WA. The load-in is just for tech, we actually load out and into another venue for opening this Wednesday.
I really like the people here which is what I was most worried about. I haven't really found a rhythm with the work that I am doing, but it will come - I am still new to the process.
Last night I had dinner with my friend Ben from CMU. It was nice to see a familiar face and the food was great. He had to drive a half hour out of Seattle to meet me, and a half hour back - so I hope my company was worth it.
On a side note the wardrobe supervisor just asked:
Was Jesus alive before the dinosaurs or after the dinosaurs?
I thought it was good for a laugh.

Catching Up & Saying Farewell
This was my last weekend in LA before I head out on tour - I can't believe it's already here. I have been scuttling about taking care of everything I need to address before I leave town for 2 months. It has been crazy. I had promised a lot of people to do a lot of stuff before I left, and now I am attempting to deliver on all of it. It's a bit of a challenge, really.
Friday night when I got home from working at Maxine's house I was starving so I made myself a huge bowl of homemade General Tso's Chicken and chased it with going out to Yogurtiers for some custom-delicious yogurt. After eating so much so quickly I got really sick, threw up, and went to bed super-early (bailing on the evening of fun everyone else had at a nearby bar playing pool). I was lame.
But since I went to bed early, I woke up early and feeling much better on Saturday. Since I wasn't working for Maxine, I got up and ran a lot of errands I have been needing to take care of prior to rolling out of LA. I went to target and spent $110 on a scale (which I am going to take on the road with the hope that it will help me stick to my weight loss goals), a watch, a pedometer, some clothes, and other stuff. Then I went to Payless (to pick up shoes that I had delivered to the store about 3 weeks ago) and Old Navy (which is having an amazing sale and you can get pretty much any shirt you want for $4 or less - my favorite style was only $2.25 a piece, so I cleaned house and only spent like $25).
On my way back from the mall, Joe and I met for lunch at Chipotle - something we have been meaning to do for quite some time (another 'before I leave for LA' task down). A little while later, I went to see The Informant with Jason (another friend I know from CMU who lives out here). After the movie (which was over by 6 PM) we went to my favorite restaurant for drinks and appetizers. It was nice to catch up a bit with one another. We had planned to hang out last weekend at Disney Land, but it ended up not working out due to sickness, tardiness, and other obstacles beyond my control.
After a hug good night I was on my way back home. When I got to my apartment, I unlocked the door only to be greeted by pitch black turning to shockingly bright full of my friends audible SURPRISE sensory overload moment. Sam and Brianna got me good - and it was a lovely surprise going away party. We used the BBQ pits at the apartment complex and went out for dessert at 1 AM. It was really sweet and nice to have a chance to say thank you and goodbye to pretty much everyone I know on this coast.
This morning I woke up really early and went to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in digital 3D with Rustin. The showing was at 10:30 AM - because I had to work at 1 PM. It was a great movie - perfect for kids and the 3D was really well done. It also had a good balance of high humor for adults, so I really enjoyed it. It was a nice final outing with Rustin - we had planned on seeing it the weekend before I left, so another check marked on that list.
After the movie I called Maxine to confirm my arrival time, and she said that she wasn't up to working today so I got a nice surprise day off. Sam, Brianna and I hit up Old Navy, and met Derek at a sports bar on our way back so that we could watch the Steelers game (yes, it was an unfortunate disappointment to lose 17-14 after missing 2 field goals in the game). After that I went home, took a nap, woke up to watch the majority of the Emmys, and am now off to bed once again.
It was a good (very active and busy) weekend. As long as I keep myself preoccupied, I can't dwell on the fact that I am going to miss it here. I am going to miss it a lot.

Struggling
I think I am really wrestling with my PCOS lately. I feel like I have lost my personality spark over the last several weeks, am struggling with weight loss, and feel groggy most of the time. If I had health insurance, I would go see a doctor to talk about options and stuff, but all I can do is read online. The real problem is that online everyone just says to seek medical advice - I just want someone to tell me what the medical advice is. I just read a really long article about how I REALLY shouldn't be drinking diet soda - so I think tomorrow I am going to try to get that to kick the bucket. We'll see.
